BBQ 8th
July 2006
3pm(ish) family and friends arrive
for the annual club BBQ (below left).

A small game of football (above right) gets underway as the
BBQ is prepared, whilst some of the kids go exploring.
Daniel Canetti (below left) shows why The Blades will be
playing

Daniel Bates returns with the first woodland injury (above
right).
Bruce Dickinson (below left) show’s off the latest in
self-portrait t-shirts

An orderly queue (above right) forms around the official
club BBQ (made by Tom, stored and brought by Bob).
June and Graham Bates (below left) take some R&R in
their Shackltons’ chairs

Tom takes control of the BBQ (above right) as the first food
starts sizzling
Janet Canetti (below) shows everyone her new magic trick
involving a bottle of beer.

There – it’s empty just like that!
Bob look’s forward to getting at the food! (below
left).

Janet Canetti improvises a table out of the boot of the car
(above right) and keeps something handy to fend off hungry kids! Note to all –
take club folding table next year!
Bob and Annette (below left)
enjoy the fruits of their BBQ labours…

…whilst son Liam (above right) refuses to have his photo
taken until he’s sorted his hair!
Tom takes a well earned break after cooking up some fine
food (below left).

Bob and June Bates (above right) fight through the smoke to
check the food .
Caroline Bates and Jess Barlow (below left) enjoy the great
outdoors by eating their food in the car!

Steve Swinburn (above right) turns
up late and realises he’s missed the note on the BBQ invite stating “casual
dress” – actually he was dropping Bradley off before returning to a wedding
reception
The first game of Rounders gets
underway (below left).

Janet Canetti and Annette Grayson (above right) finally
return from what seemed to be a 2-day visit to the loo, in time for the second Rounders match. Honours are split between Bob and Tom’s
team, 1-1.
Just time for a kids vs Dads
football match (below), despite shooting wide here, the out numbered Dads
annihilate the kids 3-2 as rain ends play and we break camp and head for home
at 9.20pm – another great day, the more the merrier next year!
