Chapeltown victorious in Dearne Valley gala – 15/7/06

On 15^th July Chapeltown took part in the Dearne Valley Gala and put in an excellent performance, bringing home the Dearne Valley Teams Gala Trophy after finishing first, ahead of Dearne Valley A, Dearne Valley B. South Axhome Sharks and Bircoates.

The squad listed below also managed 14 personal bests with Sarah Winterbottom, Daniel Fitzgerald, and Alicea Herring getting 2 personal best each:

The Gala was followed by a BBQ at a local club where burgers and hot dogs were served along with the odd pint of “shandy”. The swimmers then burnt off what was left of their energy on the adjoining cricket field whilst parents didn’t burn off any energy watching them!
