Chapeltown boys come out “Top” at
Chapeltown Amateur Swimming Club
swimmers Bruce Dickinson (13), Daniel Bates (14), and Thomas Winterbottom (15)
picked up Top Boy awards in their respective age groups at the Doncaster Dartes
Open Meet, on 19th May. The awards were given to Bruce following
this 3 Gold medals, Daniel for his Gold, 2 Silver and a Bronze medals, and
Thomas for his 3 Gold and 1 Silver medal; each swimmer received a special
plaque in recognition of their efforts.
Fourteen of Chapeltown’s swimmers
took part in the competition which was held at Adwick Leisure Centre in
Team Manager John Potts was
impressed with the team’s performance but especially the three boys taking top
awards, “It was a great Meet for both the girls and the boys, but Bruce, Daniel
and Thomas had excellent swims and thoroughly deserved their awards.”
The results will Thomas and Daniel to
1st and 3rd place in the Club’s new “Most Competitive
Swimmer Trophy”, with Charlotte Peirson in 2nd place. The trophy will
be given to the swimmer who accumulates the most points for both attending
swimming competitions and the results they achieve throughout the year.
Chapeltown club swims in the
Barnsley Minor League, regional galas as far as Matlock, and open competition
