Success at Knottingley for local swimmers

Ashley Fearn, of Chapeltown, and Akira Makey of Lundwood in Barnsley, both swimming for Chapeltown Amateur Swimming club, recently won Gold at the Knottingley Swimming Gala. Ashley was first in the Boys 11-12age 50metre Breaststroke, and Akira picked up her Gold in the Girls 11-12age 50metre Butterfly.

Several regional clubs including Sheffield City, Barnsley, Scunthorpe, Adwick, Stocksbridge, Askern Spa, and of course Knottingley, took part in the gala. In addition to the two Golds, Chapeltown swimmers picked up a number of Silver, Bronze, 4th, 5th & 6th place medals, along with a number of personal best times.
