Ponds Forge
Eleven year old Barnsley swimmers, Akira
Makey (Lundwood), Ryan Dunn (Birdwell), Charlotte Cox (Birdwell), all achieved
an impressive 6 Personal Best times during the recent Retford ASC Open Swimming
competition held at Ponds Forge international pool in
Twenty clubs competed in the gala at the
international pool, supported by family and friends. Akira and Ryan’s
performance, along with their fellow swimmers, helped Chapeltown ASC to an
impressive 7th place in the overall competition.
“You can’t ask for more than Personal
Bests from swimmers, if they’re achieving these you know they are improving and
they are trying their very best,” commented club Coach Robert Grayson. “There’s
no doubt we’re starting to see the benefits of the club’s recent investment in
new technology for swimming training and our new Gym,” he added.
