Chapeltown Swimmers "Master" Scarborough

Three of Chapeltown Amateur Swimming Club’s team, Lynne Dawson (age 39 of Sheffield), Warren Bew (age 35 of Rotherham), and Vanessa Grayson (age 20 of Sheffield), attended the Yorkshire Swimming Association Masters Championships at Scarborough on 13th May 2006 and came away with 10 Gold medals, 2 Silvers and 1 Bronze.

The Masters are specifically designed to provide competitive races for swimmers over 24 years, although the ASA have recently introduced events for 19-24 year olds, allowing Vanessa Grayson to attend for the first time.

Despite swimming in seven events at the Masters Championship on Saturday, Vanessa Grayson still managed to support her club at the Eckington Gala the following day, taking part in a number of events throughout the day.

“It was great to see Vanessa attending the Masters she did incredibly well despite some tough competition in her age group.” commented Lynne Dawson.
