Chapeltown retain Corporation Cup

Chapeltown ASC retain the Corporation Cup for the second year after a close race in the Sheffield & District Gala at Ponds Forge earlier in February. The race involved a team of 4 swimmers, Thomas Winterbottom (age 13), Graham Norton (age 51), Daniel Canetti (age 12), Tom Bell (age 15) racing in an individual medley of 50m lengths per swimmer.

“The club is very proud of all it’s swimmers that took part in the gala, we won a numerous of trophies and medals but we’re especially delighted to retain the Corporation Cup” said Bob Grayson, professional swimming teacher and Coach of Chapeltown ASC.

The history behind the Corporation Cup is unknown but it was first won by Attercliffe back in 1899.
