About Us

Formed in 1961, we are a friendly club in a small local community.
Our aim is to encourage swimmers of all ages to swim competitively, through a structured training programme, whilst also providing a welcoming environment for those who simply want to swim for fitness and friendship.

The swimmers have the chance to represent the club in a local swimming league, at open galas, county, regional and even national championships.
We have coached swimmers that have reached the finals of Yorkshire championships, qualified for the North East regional competitions, and represented the club at national and international level.
 

Swimmers are trained by Head Coach Shaun Parker, and Assistant Head Coaches, Sharon Faulkner and Kevin Goodwin, who all hold Swim England Coaching qualifications. They are supported by a number of other qualified coaches and volunteer poolside helpers.
Parents and helpers fulfil roles such as timekeepers and judges, and behind the scene organise social events, create publicity and maintain this website. So there's a great opportunity for the whole family to be involved in many aspects of the club and volunteers are always welcome -  so
