We are introducing a new (virtual) monthly award – Member of the Month – to recognise (and say “Thank You” to) any member who has promoted the Clubs ethos and values through their actions.  There is no physical prize for the “Member of the Month”, but the winner will be recognised on the Club website and/or social media.

But…….We need your help to do this – by nominating people for the award.

Who can make a nomination?

Nominations for “Member of the Month” can be made by any member of Chapeltown ASC (swimmer, parent/guardian or volunteer).

Who can be nominated?

Nominees can be any swimmer or volunteer of Chapeltown ASC who have demonstrated exceptional character and helpfulness in areas such as (but not limited to):

• Mentorship & Onboarding

  • Welcoming and guiding new members/families to help them navigate Club routines and competition schedules.

  • Acting as a "buddy" for new swimmers, ensuring they feel confident and included during their first few weeks.

• Event Support & Initiative

  • Providing outstanding assistance at gala meets, such as helping staff with logistics without being asked etc.

  • Stepping in to support teammates or officials during high-pressure moments.

• Community Contribution

  • Proactively sharing knowledge regarding the wider swimming community (e.g. Swim England policy, open meet processes/etiquette, World Aquatic/Aquatics GB rules).

  • Creating a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone in the Club.

  • Demonstrating "above and beyond" dedication, such as organising social activities or fundraising to enhance the club experience.

• Role Modelling

  • Setting an example of great sportsmanship and integrity, regardless of race outcomes.

  • Offering consistent encouragement and emotional support to fellow members.

How do I make a nomination?

To nominate a member for “Member of the Month”, you simply need to complete the attached form (which will also be available on the Club website), with:

• the name of the nominee (the person you are nominating)

• your name (the proposer), and

• a brief reason why you are nominating them. 

You then need to print and return the form to the Club Secretary (or another Committee Member) by the 1^st of the month. All nominations received will then be considered at the next Committee meeting.
